Congregation B'nai Israel has grown to become recognized as one of the leading Reform Jewish congregations in the Southwest. The Congregation has been honored by the praise of such world Jewish leaders as Sir Moses Montefiore, the great English philanthropist, and Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, the founder of Reform Judaism, as well as the noteworthy service to congregation and community of Rabbi Ira E. Sanders, Rabbi E.E. Palnick, and currently Rabbi Eugene H. Levy.
The Congregation celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1966 in its venerable sanctuary at Capitol and Broadway, a building that was a distinguished Little Rock landmark for almost eight decades.
Since May 2, 1975, the Congregation has been housed at its present location, on a beautiful wooded site at 3700 N. Rodney Parham Road. Nearly 400 families strong, Congregation B'nai Israel looks forward to the future, ever mindful of its own past and the traditions of Judaism.
